Farm assessment and planning
We work with farm owners to understand the current state of the farm, identify challenges, assess available infrastructure, and decide which farming activities can realistically be started or improved.
Many private farms have land, infrastructure and potential, but struggle because of finances, a lack of skilled workers, limited resources or farm management. We help them get back to productive, sustainable farming.
An initiative that helps struggling private farms restart, improve or strengthen their farming operations.
Some farms have the land and infrastructure for production but lack the capacity or resources to operate effectively. We help owners identify their challenges, introduce basic farm operations, and explore access to interns and other support.
Our goal: consistent production, improved management, job creation and long-term sustainability.

We work with farm owners to understand the current state of the farm, identify challenges, assess available infrastructure, and decide which farming activities can realistically be started or improved.
We help farms establish essential activities such as land preparation, planting, irrigation, soil management, pest control, harvesting, recordkeeping and general maintenance, depending on the farm's needs.
We explore partnerships with government programmes, training organisations and other institutions that may provide eligible interns with stipends, so participants gain experience while assisting with agreed farm activities.
Interns learn through practical farm activities under appropriate supervision, developing skills in production, farm management and agricultural business operations.
As operations improve, we help identify opportunities for production growth, market access, business development and partnerships — so each farm relies less on temporary support.
Some government departments, training institutions and organisations offer internship programmes that may provide stipends to eligible participants. We seek partnerships with them for farms that need operational support.
Assess which activities require support, such as crop production, irrigation, nursery management, livestock care or farm administration.
Explore programmes that match the farm's needs, the participants' skills and the funder's eligibility requirements.
Where placements are approved, participants gain practical experience while contributing to agreed activities.
Establish clear responsibilities, learning objectives, attendance records and regular progress reviews.
Monitor activities, production, skills development and business progress to identify further support needed.
Important: internship placements and stipends depend on the availability, approval and rules of the relevant programmes. We facilitate and explore these opportunities but cannot guarantee placements or funding. Arrangements must comply with applicable employment, safety and internship requirements.
Support depends on each farm's circumstances, available resources and the feasibility of restarting or improving operations.

Struggling farms deserve a chance to rebuild their capacity and contribute to local economic development. We start with each farm's challenges, begin with the basics, use available resources wisely and connect owners with relevant support.
Internships alone cannot solve every challenge. Farms may also need working capital, reliable water, inputs, equipment, technical advice and secure markets. We identify these needs during assessment and address them through suitable partnerships where possible.
Each application is assessed individually.
We invite private farm owners, government departments, training institutions, internship providers, agricultural professionals and development partners to work with us — unlocking underused land, developing skills and building sustainable farming businesses.
